Education and Outreach: Multimedia Presentations

One of CASA's strategic goals is to explore the development and use of innovative multimedia to support all aspects of the Center. This page contains an emerging collection of multimedia content representing the research, technical integration, and education and outreach aspects of CASA.

In cooperation with the UMass Research in Presentation Production for Learning Electronically (RIPPLES) project, selected CASA events are captured in various formats and then archived to allow later use and to overcome the costs and barriers of distance and time. This is particularly relevant for CASA which spans many geographically remote universities, field sites, industrial partners and potentially over a decade of activities. Visual representations also allow CASA's results and message to be conveyed to a wide range of audiences, presentation formats, and media types.

Presentation formats include short talks, CDs, DVDs, self-study, tutorials, and full-length courses. Media types include images, video, PowerPoint, Flash animations and a novel combined format we have developed called MANIC. For details see http://ripples.cs.umass.edu.
